Biography
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing, University of Surrey, Uk. My current research is on improving the realism of 3D humans reconstructed from images. I am working on the AI4ME in collaboration with the BBC R&D under the supervision of Prof. Adrian Hilton, Dr. Armin Mustafa and Dr. Marco Volino.
I obtained my Ph.D. degree in Computer Vision and Graphic in January 2024 at the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing, University of Surrey, Uk. The Ph.D. thesis was on shape and appearance super-resolution of 3D humans under the supervision of Prof. Adrian Hilton and Dr. Marco Volino and explore novel deep learning approaches to reconstruct highly realistic 3D humans from a minimal number of images. During my Ph.D. I worked as a Research Scientist intern at Meta Reality Labs in San Francisco, US from June 2022 until November 2022 on 3D human reconstruction from RGB-D images.
Prior to this experience, I obtained my M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from the Information Engineering Department, DEI, at the University of Padova, Italy. In 2017, I was awarded with Erasmus+ scholarship that allowed me to complete the M.Sc. at the Department of Informatic, IFI of University of Oslo during which I collaborated with Simula Research Laboratory for my master dissertation.
